"Telemea" is not the generic name for feta cheese in Romania, but denotes a specific, Romanian type of cheese. Everyone I know calls feta cheese "feta", it is marketed under this name, and the distinction between the two is obvious in both appearance and taste. I wonder where did this information come from. The reason for this confusion is due to the fact that in Romania the feta cheese is of a particular type (i.e. Greek feta) and it is a relative recent in the culinary landscape.
