I am not going to jump into the debate as to whether 1st team and 2nd team all-pros should be combined. But I agree with you that whether split or not the sum should equal 9, not 11.Rlendog (talk) 12:03, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unsourced claims in Professional career: Raiders subsection

[edit]

Can't find any sources online for the claims that Hendricks 1) didn't start during the 1975 season due to a feud between Al Davis and John Madden 2) was voted to be released unanimously by Raiders coaches, and that Davis insisted on keeping him. The only references I found to those claims were here on this page, and in a 2010/2011 Bleacher Report editorial that seemed somewhat spotty, as well as new websites that seem to be made by using AI to scrub Wikipedia and just re-report the Wikipedia claims as fact.

In fact, according to Hendricks, speaking at his Hall of Fame induction, he didn't start during the 1975 season due to a groin injury. TheDinerIsOpen (talk) 19:14, 27 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I believe the source claiming he was Vice President of the Hall of Fame Players Association also needs further citing. I can't find any reference to an NFL or Pro Football "Hall of Fame Players Association" nor to Ted Hendricks being a vice president for that organization. https://www.facebook.com/HOFPlayers/ I found this facebook page, created in 2009, updated name in 2013. The link, hofplayers.org, currently leads to an empty GoDaddy domain. Haven't tried the phone number or email, I'm going to be getting out of this rabbit hole for the time being if anyone else feels like jumping down it, have at it. Otherwise I'll use this information dig up some more information in the future. TheDinerIsOpen (talk) 20:59, 27 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
