I will be conducting a review in due time. Jon698 (talk) 00:00, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Jon698: I've addressed each point. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:33, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
Prose
[edit]- 1. "for representative Doris Matsui" -> Change to "for U.S. Representative Doris Matsui"
- Partially done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 2. "later joining Tea Party Express, an organization" -> Replace later with before
- Partially done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 3. "Budowich had become the organization's spokesperson by the following year," -> Change to "Budowich became the organiation's"
- This is grammatically correct, so I'm not changing it. If there is a "by" in a sentence, you need the past present to indicate that the action had already been completed by then. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 4. "In August 2024, he directly served within Trump's 2024 presidential campaign" -> What does this mean and could it just be changed to "He worked for Trump's 2024 presidential campaign"?
- The point was to show that Budowich had been indirectly helping Trump's campaign, but he worked for the campaign directly beginning in August 2024. Partially done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 5. "In November, Trump named Budowich as his deputy chief of staff for communications and personnel. In September 2025, he resigned to work for the private sector." -> Reword to "Trump named Budowich as his deputy chief of staff for communications and personnel, but he resigned to work for the private sector."
- 6. "Kirk was a washer and dryer repairman, while Jeannine is a bookkeeper and administrator." -> Change "Jeannie is" to "Jeannine was" to match "Kirk was"
- Done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 7. "By October 1999, the Budowiches were living in" -> Can this be the start of a new paragraph? The single paragraph for Early life and education seems long
- No, because the resulting section would have two short paragraphs. The first would be fifty words, which is far below what a section should have. The paragraph present is about the size of the other paragraphs. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 8. "winning a Nintendo video game console" -> Wikilink Nintendo
- Done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 9. "for representative Doris Matsui" -> "for U.S. Representatives Doris Matsui"
- Partially done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 10. "Budowich had become the organization's communications director by December 2013" -> Change to "Budowich became"
- Not done. See above. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 11. "Tea Party Express's response to president" -> Capitalize president
- Done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 12. "In September 2017, Budowich began working for Watchdog PAC" -> Replace began with started
- Not done. See above. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 13. "advisor to Donald Trump Jr., according to ProPublica" -> Is the comma necessary?
- Yes, because it is a non-restrictive clause. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 14. "He helped lead the younger Trump's political action committee" -> Change "the younger Trump" to "Trump Jr.'s
- Not done, because I don't see the point in changing it. As far as I know, it is acceptable to say "the younger". elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 15. "By June 2021, Budowich had become a senior advisor to Max Miller" -> "By June 2021, Budowich was a senior advisor to Max Miller"
- Not done. See above. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 16. "The following month, he had joined the conservative commentator Tudor Dixon's campaign in the 2022 Michigan gubernatorial election." -> "In July, he joined conservative commentator Tudor Dixon's campaign in the 2022 Michigan gubernatorial election."
- Done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 17. "who allegedly led a social media campaign 2020 presidential election to garner attendees for a rally in the Ellipse" -> Sentence needs fixed due to stray mention of 2020 presidential election
- Done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 18. "After Trump announced a presidential campaign for the 2024 election in November 2022, Budowich was not retained as Trump's spokesman." -> Change "a" to "his" and move "Budowich was not retained as Trump's spokesman" to the front of the sentence
- Agreed, done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 19. "In June 2023, one day before Trump was criminally charged in the classified documents case" -> Have this be the start of a new paragraph
- Done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- 20. "In February 2025, Budowich moved to block Associated Press journalists from the Oval Office and Air Force One, among other locations, over the news agency's stance on the Gulf of Mexico naming controversy." -> Have this be the start of a new paragraph
- Not done, because the preceding sentences would be in their own short section.
- 21. "In September, Axios reported that Budowich intended to resign to work for the private sector by the end of that month" -> Have this be the start of a new paragraph
- Done. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
- Those are all of my prose comments. Image and sourcing review coming up next.
Images
[edit]- There is currently one image in the article. This image is a photograph of Budowich taken from a larger group photo. This photo was taken by Margo Martin, a government official, while performing her government duties. This means that the image is public domain per US law. I added an alt to this image.
- I have one suggestion for images to add to the article. Could this box be placed into the Early political work (2011–2021) section?
- I would rather use an image from a more prominent part of his career. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 15:31, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
References
[edit]- There are 37 references in the article. I will review 5 of these, which accounts for 13.51% of the total.
- 1. A Sacramento kid grew up to be a voice for Donald Trump. Now he's fighting Jan. 6 subpoenas" [Reference 3] is used to source Budowich's place of birth, the occupations of his parents, death of his father, education in Egypt, internship with Doris Matsui and Heather Fargo, his Tea Party movement work, and his work for Ron DeSantis. The article's title and tagline sources his place of birth. The paywall blocks me from seeing more, but a quick use of Google's find tool allows me to see that all of this is mentioned in the article so I will assume good faith.
- 2. There’s a new dark money group supporting Trump [Reference 25] is used to source his work for Securing American Greatness. This is found in paragraph 5.
- 3. The next White House staffer to exit [Reference 37] is used to source him founding a lobbying firm. This is sourced by the article, but I decided to replace it with the Axios page Exclusive: "Just tell him the truth": An ex-aide's advice for talking to Trump since Axios doesn't have an annoying paywall and doesn't block Internet Archive. The Axios article sources this information in paragraph 5.
- 4. Trump Plans to Install His Book Publisher as Head of Personnel [Reference 30] is used to source Budowich having the Presidential Personnel Office under his control and Susie Wiles' staff structuring. Paragraph 9 sources this.
- 5. Corcoran’s committee drops $95K for first TV ad buy [Reference 9] is used to source him being the communications director for Watchdog PAC. This is sourced by paragraph 3.
- A review of the sources above shows no errors or issues.
