I've deleted the following information as I can't find evidence of it. Anyway I wouldn't have thought a sleeping train driver could crash into the station as the train is on rails.
- In December 1993 the station was hit by a train, which has been widely speculated that was the result of a driver having too much to drink and falling asleep.[citation needed]

Tattenham Corner is a terminal railway station, and the station buildings at the time were located behind the buffers at the end of the rails, meaning the train could quite easily run into the station if the driver was at error. Whilst it is difficult to find web-based evidence for the incident due to it happening 14 years ago, surely the language of the statement is enough to be non-biased.
