[edit]The sixth sensory "taste" has apparently been determined, there should at least be a note about this. Google for "oleogustus". A terrible name, yes. https://www.purdue.edu/newsroom/releases/2015/Q3/research-confirms-fat-is-sixth-taste-names-it-oleogustus.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:14BA:16F2:E800:F860:B28C:F62C:D583 (talk) 11:32, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
- It's there; look up Oleogustus, which redirects to the section Taste#tFat taste, where the term is mentioned and the concept discussed.Nø (talk) 13:11, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
Taste Modifiers
[edit]While not important to general sensation of taste, Taste modifiers may be important to mention or link somehow? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.147.205.130 (talk) 22:20, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
Starch taste in humans
[edit]Is it misleading to say that humans can't taste starch? The source cited mostly focuses on the sensory capabilities of marine life, with only a cursory mention of rodents being able to taste starch while humans can't, and I believe there is research that says humans can taste starch to some extent.
