FYI- there were no OH-58's on the ground with TF Hawk. ALSO, I believe that 11th Aviation Regiment (as it was properly titled at that time) should be listed as (minus), since we left half of our aircraft, a lot of other equipment and some people (more than just a rear detachment) in Illesheim. At the time, the 4 ASOS was the Air Force's Air Support Operations Center (ASOC) provider to V Corps. The ASOC normally has a much larger role in overseeing the planning (including liaising with Air and Space Ops Center (AOC)), execution, and command and control of close air support (CAS) for V Corps and its subordinate units. In the case of Noble Anvil/Task Force Hawk, however, there was not supposed to be much, if any, of a ground force and therefore CAS would have been minimal, if at all. As such, only a small contingent of 4 ASOS was deployed to be an air liaison element (sort of like an Air Component Coordination Element (ACCE)) for the Air Force as opposed to the traditional ASOC. 4 ASOS could also be listed as a "minus", if so desired.
