[edit]This article needs a few good photos to better describe the town. ROxBo (talk) 08:10, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Crime
[edit]I think it's fair to mention the crime rates in the town, as this article paints the town in far too positive a light. Having lived here, and read about it enough, (i can provide a link to back up what i'm about to say) almost every major crime is above the state average, the notable exception being murder. http://www.manningrivertimes.com.au/news/local/news/general/crime-figures-well-above-state-average/1568166.aspx Crime is a huge issue facing the area, and anyone reading about the town is entitled to know it's not some picturesque country town. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.101.16.183 (talk) 11:12, 19 May 2010 (UTC) Taree is a cespit of crime. Mention should be made of the failed mission at purfleet, and the crime it flows into the CBD. I agree, belatedly, with the above poster.. people reading this wiki would be very fooled into thinking the town is tourist safe and crime free. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.168.118.217 (talk) 04:57, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- Having moved to Taree from South East Queensland seven months ago I find this town to be safe, pleasant and in no way more crime ridden or dangerous than places such as Morayfield, Browns Plains or Ipswich. In fact most people here seem to be quite happy to live in the area. I note the above comments are from unsigned contributors who have perhaps not visited other areas. And yes I will be posting some photos. --MichaelGG (talk) 08:58, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

William Wynter
[edit]This article says that Wynter surveyed this land in the 1800's, but if you click on the link to William Wynter provided in this article, it says he lived in the 1500's, well before European knowledge of Australia. How is there a 300 disparity? Is there a different William Wynter and somebody linked it to the wrong article? Cityrailsaints (talk) 14:44, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
