Pronunciation?

Could someone add a notation about the pronunciation? I believe it should be something like "thar-a-nish," but where does the emphasis go, and is the "i" short or long?

Apology

In my notation for a change I made today, I incorrectly referred to vandalism by 84.100.171.211. The vandalism was actually by 63.230.6.175.

Albans reference

Please provide a citation/proof that Albans are not a modern, neopagan invention. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.202.115.32 (talk) 23:40, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

I've removed the paragraph. The Albans and the Wheel of the Year are both modern constructs introduced by Iolo Morganwg and the founders of Wicca. See for example the entries for Alban Arthan and Wheel of the Year. As such, these ideas are inappropriate in the entry about the historical Taranis. stvltvs ^(talk) 17:27, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Sun Chariot

the article states that

The identification of the Sun with a wheel, or a chariot, has parallels in Germanic, Greek and Vedic mythology

it also has parallels in sumerian mythology of their sun god Utu and later semitic god Shamash who also ride in chariots115.135.130.182 (talk) 21:15, 28 November 2018 (UTC)

Tanaros being River Po

There is no evidence for this claim, as the Tanaro River is, in fact, a southern tributary to the Po. The name I found for the River Po during the ligurian and gaulish period is Bodincos, which has a connection to the Latin version Padus in the name's root. ~2026-73921-5 (talk) 07:51, 3 February 2026 (UTC)

@~2026-73921-5: Both Matasović and Koch describe Tanarus as an old name for the river Po, though neither describe it as "the Gaulish name", so I've changed that. Tenpop421 (talk) 18:29, 3 February 2026 (UTC)
