Tangent sights

[edit]

A tangent sight is a rear sight which may lie flat against the upper surface of the firearm, or be elevated for sighting at long range. The tang sight is a type of tangent sight, but takes its name from the location of mounting, while many tangent sights are mounted on the receiver or rear part of the barrel.
