Infobox

[edit]

The infobox, which has been in this article since February this year, has been removed, citing Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Composers/Infoboxes RfC#Closing remarks as a justification. I would remind editors that that RfC found that "Infoboxes are not to be... removed systematically from articles. Such actions would be considered disruptive.". Thanks for adding it back in; it does seem rather disruptive to just wholesale remove it. My interpretation of the RfC was that classical composers - e.g. Beethoven - don't need infoboxes, but that there was no consensus one way or another for contemporary (or living?) composers. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 13:00, 27 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
It's certainly true that many of the arguments made against infoboxes for composers (uncertain birth dates; no-longer recognised countries of birth, etc - not that I agree that they preclude infoboxes) do not apply to contemporary composers. Please note that Wikipedia:WikiProject Composers does not own this article and that other projects related to the article are generally in favour of infoboxes. I have been cleaning up Chinese musicians as a member of WP:CHINA and this article stands out as missing something. Rincewind42 (talk) 06:36, 20 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
The other projects do not own them either, so your remark is pointless. Adding a disinfobox to an article does not qualify as "cleaning up". Also, please see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Infoboxes. Toccata quarta (talk) 07:22, 20 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

I've added an External Link to a webpage dedicated entirely to Tan Dun, including a brief biography, several notable works with embedded recordings and score links, and various resources including a curated scholarly reference list. I'm adding this link after reading through the External Links Guidelines and noticing several similar websites being linked to dozens of other Wikipedia pages.
