Thailand should probably have a mention here as Massaman Curry and Pad Thai are internationally recognized and beloved dishes. Pad thai has it as a core flavor and could help people recognize what type of flavor it is. GlowingLava (talk) 04:43, 11 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Facts with WP:WEIGHT and a WP:RS source are good for the encyclopedia.

Both massaman curry and pad Thai (see articles for main ingredients) have multiple flavorful spices which would compete with tamarind as a "core" flavor depending on the cook. If there is a reputable book, article or news (non-blog) source stating the international recognition (people who favor Thai food acknowledge this) and core strength of tamarind flavor in such dishes, we should include it.
