Identity of this First Nation

I added an archive reference for the usurped official website. They state they are Anishinabe and say, "Many can trace their origins back to Montana, where they originally lived but were driven out by the whites, after the 1868-1886 war. Ogimak Big Bear or Sitting Bull led them up to Canada." Sitting Bull was Hunkpapa Lakota and traveled from South Dakota into North Dakota and into Sakatchewan. But he led an intertribal force, and some of their descendants may have migrated into Northern Alberta. However, most of the time, the Tallcree are described as being Cree. Does anyone have insights into the historical tribes who make up the people of the Tallcree First Nation today? Yuchitown (talk) 17:05, 7 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
