Technical directors in visual effects and computer animation industries

[edit]

TD is a common job title in the computer animation and visual effects industries, rather than "the most senior technical person". They work on creating visual effects shots in movies, and computer animation scenes in games, and are often responsible for a specific part of the process, eg "Lighting TD", "Character TD". I'm beginning to think the Technical Director article needs to be split, else editors here will continue to perpetuate the error of incorrectly lumping this distinct usage in the visual effects and computer animation industries under "most senior technical person". We are dealing with different usages of the term "Technical Director", which need to be disambiguated.[1]Aliveness Cascade (talk) 14:44, 25 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
