Currency

[edit]

What is with the currency jumping all over the place? I count at least 4 different currencies:

55 million euros HK$63.34 million ($8.1 million) 1.7 billion yuan ($249 million) $3.9 billion

It makes the article difficult to read and just looks dodgy.

TCL is a joint-venture of Philips?

[edit]

Because 6.3% of the company is owned by Philips according to the Philips Template on Wikipedia. If is right, update the TCL page. Thanks. PedroLucasDBr (talk) 19:47, 4 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

6.3% is too small as a joint venture, just an equity investment. About 20% may be associate company, 40-60, 50-50, 30-70 owned by two parent companies, may be a joint venture. Moreover, since TCL had some subsidiaries which also are listed companies, Philips ownership may point to different thing. Matthew_hk tc 19:55, 4 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Edit Request

[edit]

Hi, I am a paid representative of TCL and have disclosed my conflict of interest on my user page. I am requesting review of whether the lead, infobox, and category information still reflect TCL Technology’s current business structure after the 2019 restructuring.

According to TCL Technology Group Corporation’s publicly filed 2019 Annual Report, page 22, the company “completed the Major Asset Restructuring,” “spun off the intelligent terminal and supporting business,” and shifted to focus on display and materials.

According to TCL Technology Group Corporation’s publicly filed 2025 Annual Report, page 11 (“Changes in main business activities of the Company since going public”), the company states that it sold smart terminal businesses such as consumer electronics and household appliances in 2019, and that in 2020 it formed a business structure focused on display and new energy photovoltaics.

Would an uninvolved editor please review whether: · the lead should be updated so it does not describe TCL Technology as a consumer electronics manufacturer, · the infobox products field may need updating to reflect the company’s current business focus, and · the category “Consumer electronics companies of China” should still apply.

Are there other source besides the Annual Report? Amyho0210 (talk) 08:37, 26 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hello. I’m adding one independent source that may help with review of the request above.
A China Daily Brief article describes TCL’s restructuring into “two listed cores — TCL Technology, housing capital-intensive display and photovoltaic businesses, and TCL Industrial, holding the lighter-asset consumer-electronics operations.” Based on that, along with the annual reports already cited, I’m requesting review of whether the lead and infobox should be updated to reflect TCL Technology’s post-2019 business structure.
