No, they are not nu-metal. nu-metal is with like 7 stringed guitars and lower tunings. S.O.A.D.'s first album is heavy metal, but they sort of go more towards a more alternative metal style in a way.

Serj has stated after naming Korn's debut album as the best nu-metal album of all time "I'm gonna have to say Korn's first record, because it seems to me like that was the time the term "nu-metal" was created, I actually think people don't think of System of a Down as nu-metal. But Korn, for sure."

"Johnny" shouldn't be mentioned in the article like it's a brand new song. It's on the Japanese version of "Toxicity" and is the b-side to "Chop Suey!". Both were released in 2001. DevilishDictator (talk) 00:09, 10 September 2026 (UTC)
