Please change the “heavy metal” to “nu metal” as heavy metal is completely inaccurate to the actual genre of music System Of a Down is, they fall under Nu Metal (metal music made in the early 2000’s that mixes in other music genres, with SOAD this is namely Armenian folk) ~2026-25962-4 (talk) 06:47, 13 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

No, they are not nu-metal. nu-metal is with like 7 stringed guitars and lower tunings. S.O.A.D.'s first album is heavy metal, but they sort of go more towards a more alternative metal style in a way.
Serj has stated after naming Korn's debut album as the best nu-metal album of all time "I'm gonna have to say Korn's first record, because it seems to me like that was the time the term "nu-metal" was created, I actually think people don't think of System of a Down as nu-metal. But Korn, for sure."
Some would argue they have some nu-metal elements, which they do. But honestly, they are not nu-metal. ~2026-30078-30 (talk) 10:49, 20 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Please change 'The band has sold over 12 million records worldwide' to 'The band has sold over 40 million records worldwide'. 12 million refers to the album Toxicity alone, and so the original editor clearly made a mistake. Hazedproph3t (talk) 11:54, 7 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Have we got a source for that? I realise that the current 12 million claim also doesn't have a source but it's better to replace an unsourced claim with a source claim here. Morwen (talk) 12:10, 7 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

<no changes-adding a new tour announcement>

In July 2026, System of a Down announced an Australia and New Zealand tour supported by Faith No More. These will be the first shows with singer Mike Patton fronting Faith No More since 2015. The tour is scheduled for January and February 2027. [1][2] Yells at clouds (talk) 20:55, 27 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
