Renaming article

Besides, these keys are given by Microsoft themselves. They are public knowledge, and will only work with proper media. Now if I were to explain how to convert OEM windows 7 into better versions for free, that would be discussion of copyright violation. Exactly. these keys are legit. The windows XP keys only work with SLP media and a SLP bios. The other ones are trial keys, that allow installation until you can get your proper key. This is often needed when upgrading OEM windows 8.0 to 8.1 by installing from media (because the windows store is broken for you). the installer will not accept OEM keys from the bios, so you will need to enter the placeholder key to get the installation going, and retrieve the actual key from the bios later. 74.211.59.182 (talk) 01:27, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
Personal Experience
[edit]I can verify all of the information mentioned in the article through personal experience. In addition, I would like to comment that Microsoft still refers to this method as SLP which is evident in the Windows 7 licencing verification method. This can be viewable by software designed to verify product keys using pidgen.dll and other internal Windows files. Kamron Batman (talk) 09:13, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
