Blank images for Syrian Pound
[edit]I'm having trouble uploading a screenshot of the display problem on Syrian_pound that I was trying to fix. Here's an imgur link: https://imgur.com/a/TWOc3Au
Best I can tell image_left: is rendered differently without a file. Adding image_left: File:blank.png (as I did here) fixes the problem.

- odd. I just saw a big blank patch that looked for all the world like deliberate disruption. Maybe best ask the Teahouse? 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 23:00, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
Revaluation of the SP
[edit]Days after the reconstruction of syrian economy, the syrian pound has recovery significantly 64% but i am not sure if this is a credible source to publish. --Light AB (talk) 05:12, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- More established FX sources don't agree, so looks like spam/WP:COI. Per wp:NOTNEWS, we are not in the business of providing daily rates anyway. I will delete it. --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 11:41, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- I went ahead and also removed the statement that the SP dropped to unseen lows; yes, there was high volatility (understandably) compared to benchmark currencies like the Euro or the Riyal, but exchange rates at notable market places weren't actually lower than had been before. If anything, it would be worth (for an encyclopedia) to document this volatility (source needed for that), and the fact that the exchange rate did, in fact, not crash.MüllerMarcus (talk) 16:54, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

New Syrian pound
[edit]@RamiPat and Abo Yemen: should we create a new page? Panam2014 (talk) 02:23, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
- I think no because it's still the same currency with a new design, not like the Israeli new shekel replacing the Old Israeli shekelfor example. So only a subsection would be needed here.
- - RamiPat (talk) 14:35, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
- @RamiPat: but it is a new denomination with 2 less zeros. Like turkish lira. We should at least have a new paragraph, and a first about 1919-2026 syrian pound. Panam2014 (talk) 15:45, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

Translations
[edit]Shouldn't we add the translations of the bank names as well? Not everyone speaks French or is bilingual with (insert native language here) and French. ~2026-24829-84 (talk) 12:36, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
