Syrian Arab families described to be Turkish in this article

many of the families mentioned are Arab in origin and their surname are obviously Arabic surnames that were never used by any Turkmens or Turks in Anatolia or anywhere in the Arab world Prosnu (talk) 23:43, 1 November 2025 (UTC)

I checked some of the families and can't find any academic work that describes them as of Turk origin. So I think this page needs a clean up unless someone can cite academic sources that mentions them to be of Turk origin. --AbuAtrak (talk) 20:41, 18 February 2026 (UTC)

Although some do have Turkish origin they are not described as being Turkmen. This is also something people should realize. --AbuAtrak (talk) 20:54, 18 February 2026 (UTC)

I suggest article be moved to Syrian Turks, since some figures are of Turk origin , but not necessarily Turkmen. --AbuAtrak (talk) 21:05, 18 February 2026 (UTC)

Academic sources

Greetings Syria-turkman, could you please ensure that whatever you add is supported by academic sources. It is widely documented in the academic literature that Kurds form the second largest ethnic group after Arabs in Syria.
