The chromosomal rearrangement defintion is by far the most common usage of the term synteny (1000s of hits on webofscience). I feel it is misleading to start off with the other definition. Speciate 07:03, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Adding NCBI Comparative Genome Viewer to tools/computational detection

Can we add the NCBI CGV, because it is robust and can be accessible to many people, and a window to see what synteny visualization looks like. Plus, it is recent and would help in keeping this article recent.
