Example
[edit]As it is, the Example is not at all instructive for someone trying to understand the concept, since it relies on terms that are less familiar than the topic of the article. What is synonym ring in relation to data elements
[edit]From reading the original revision of this article, my impression is that the intended meaning was as a set of equivalent concepts or entities, not terms. Thus, in terms of Wikidata, all concepts connected by "said to be the same as" would be a synonym ring. However, a more common understanding is probably that each Wikidata concept/entity (article) is itself a synonym ring, a set of synonyms. The question remains whether the former sense can be sourced. Links in the Example
[edit]Does linking the pages for foaf, niem, sumo, etc. actually add to the example in a meaningful way? The concepts seem vaguely related but the connection isn't explained. I don't know much about synsets but maybe a more general example would be more effective? Suffixist (talk) 07:54, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
