No documentation of war service

[edit]

An early version of this and the Swisshelm article referred to Lowry as "General", but there is no documentation of war service. Given his age, he would have had to serve in the Mexican-American War.Parkwells (talk) 15:35, 5 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

If you have some evidence this exists, provide it. The history of newspaper ownership in St. Cloud is complex. They opened, failed, merged and were bought out in a long list of ownership. To suggest that the St. Cloud Times is a direct descendant of Lowry's paper is more than a stretch. How many editions did Lowry publish? Where, if anywhere, are there copies? The Minnesota Historical Society has Swisshelm's but no mention of Lowry's paper.
