Red hand of Ulster?

[edit]

Is there any explanation for why the Swinburne of Capheaton arms contain the red hand of Ulster, sinister? Do they have some connection to Ulster?  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  08:09, 21 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Never mind; I find that it's generic baronetage augmentation surcharged on pre-existing arms (and always done sinister on an inescutcheon argent, though placement varies).  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  08:19, 21 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
