For me, the link you provided says August 16, so did you misread it? It also says the 16th for the "Magic of Meghan" track: . Many other sources provide a date of August 16, 2019, including Stereogum, the band's current label 4AD who did their own reissue later , and other non-Bandcamp WP:AFFILIATEs like Spotify, Tidal, and Apple Music.
As far as the absolute original release date goes, the sources given in this article indicate it was first uploaded to Bandcamp and Soundcloud in September 2018. The band's own website also indicates it was first released in 2018: , so they must have either deleted or updated the original 2018 Bandcamp page at some point.
In any case, I would avoid using Bandcamp as a source for release dates if you can. I've sometimes noticed that the generic "release" listed on the bottom of a Bandcamp release page often refers to when it was released specifically on that site, and not necessarily when it was released in general. Yes, I meant August 16. I mistook August 2019 for 2018. That's what I get for sending this message so late at night. I do understand that Bandcamp release dates aren't always correct. However, in the hypothetical that the album was stated to be first released on Bandcamp (alone or in conjunction with a physical release), and the date lines up with the expected month and year, would you agree it would be reasonable to accept this?
