[edit]"Sweat box" is one particular animation term, the origins of which I could find very few resources online. Another one, for which I've yet to find a single snippet is the origin of the term "slugging notes" in reference to timing, action or camera notes on an animation X-sheet. If you have any clarifications on the origins or use of these terms, it'd be great to have it added.
Is the term "sweat box" going out of style?
[edit]I noticed that the latest edition of Producing Animation on Google Books does not use the term "sweat box" and uses the broader filmmaking term "dailies."
Also, if you carefully watch Into the Unknown, the documentary about the making of Frozen II, it's clear that Disney Animation itself is no longer using the term. The documentary consistently zooms in on the little screens used to indicate that a room in the Disney Animation building is being reserved for a meeting, and what historically would have been called "sweat box sessions" are now described as "dailies." --Coolcaesar (talk) 18:03, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
