This should be classified as his eighth studio album

[edit]

In the footnote, it states, " Despite this designation, multiple publications have referred to Swag II as Bieber’s eighth studio album." but we’re not labeling it as such. Why? Wikipedia is ran off us classifying stuff with what the sources say. Are we just classifying it as a reissue because we feel like it? This is like Chromakopia all over again, when it said something along the lines of "The sources themselves and the marketing of this album says it’s Tyler’s eighth buttt we’re just gonna say it’s his seventh” (luckily it got changed). I 100% agree - this isnt just a 'SWAG deluxe', it's an entirely new sequel album 2601:1C0:6700:9D0:3172:B68F:FDDC:A46E (talk) 09:12, 7 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
No exactly, the footnote only lists one source calling it a deluxe while also listing 10 that call it a a new album. We should follow the majority, like how AURORA's Infections of a Different Kind was changed from an EP to a studio album. Xxdenmexx (talk) 14:15, 16 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Because the album includes all of the songs from the first Swag, it really is not classified as the eighth album. It’s exactly like Gaga’s The Fame Monster, which was a reissue of the first album but had a bunch of new songs. MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 15:02, 16 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Regarding @MarioProttIV:
The Swag II tracklist does not feature any of the same songs as the Swag tracklist, aside from a bonus disk.
Regarding the overall conversation:
If the majority of source classify this as its own separate album, then we should, too. This article should follow what the sources say and not what we ourselves think. WP:OR JavaJourney (talk | contribs) 16:32, 16 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Agree (I will note a similar discussion has been held at Talk: List of 2025 albums#Re-issues with additional material vs deluxe albums regarding whether this album should be included). Quwoting2 / Mhm? 02:21, 17 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
