Denialism and criticism

[edit]

I was researching for sources linking the SDG criticism with denialist and far-right conspiracy theories for another article, but I find that there's no section about criticism or reception in the article, but it seems that it existed in the past, as seen in the discussion. I think that having such a section with a good summary of who is against and why, should be good for understanding better the topic. Is there any reason for not having it? We do have such a section in the article. You can find this kind of content under "challenges", User:Theklan. EMsmile (talk) 21:35, 13 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
Where? CatNip48 (talk) 13:13, 28 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
There’s no “challenges” section right now. And the Criticism section doesn't address this ~2025-36771-11 (talk) 09:26, 27 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
What exactly should be added to the criticism section (which is already quite detailed)? If it's about climate change, this is well covered in climate change denial already, isn't it? EMsmile (talk) 22:58, 21 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Shorten the section on "Details of 17 goals and targets"?

[edit]

I am wondering if the section on "Details of 17 goals and targets" needs to be shortened. It was me who originally set it up with those 17 excerpts but looking at it now, I wonder if this is the best solution. A lot of it is very much "UN speech" and is cumbersome to read. Should we perhaps take all that content out and just keep a short section which links readers to the relevant SDG sub-articles? EMsmile (talk) 14:04, 7 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the excerpts for the individual SDGs now. The question is if each section about an individual SDG should be at least a full paragraph long (copy a sentence or two form the individual SDG article?), or if they should be really short. Perhaps even just a bullet point list for the individual SDGs and not even individual sub-headings?
There are now three excerpts remaining, in the country examples section. EMsmile (talk) 15:31, 13 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Older populations

[edit]

Hello all,

Hi everyone,

I’d like to suggest adding a sentence to the article about how older adults are often left out of SDG efforts. A 2023 study in BMC Public Health found that older populations are rarely included in SDG policies and reporting, and that there’s a need for better data and support for this age group. A 2023 study found that older populations are often overlooked in Sustainable Development Goal efforts. The authors recommend including age-specific policies and data to make sure older adults are not left behind. Change the website for SDGs in the box.

[edit]

It is mentioned in the info box that the website is https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/ . Isn't the website for SDGs supposed to be https://sdgs.un.org/ ? 2405:201:5809:601F:FDBF:B45E:463:C875 (talk) 08:09, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I don't know which is the best / most official URL for it? EMsmile (talk) 20:22, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Then in that case, I think that both URLs can be mentioned because both of them are specifically based on SDGs and provide information on them. 2405:201:5809:601F:A922:914B:8EEF:6678 (talk) 10:09, 27 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Fine by me. I've just added the second URL to the infobox. EMsmile (talk) 13:23, 1 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
