Female first

[edit]

Brigadier Patricia Purves was the first woman brigadier in the regular British Army in 1998 (previously, the Director of the WRAC carried the rank of Brigadier). In August 2014, Brigadier Sharon Nesmith became the first woman to command a 'line' brigade, when she was appointed to command the 1st Signal Brigade.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Gaia Octavia Agrippa (talkcontribs) 13:53, 30 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
