India?
[edit]I wonder if India would qualify as a superstate in that sense. Since most citizens identify with a particular state as opposed to the concept of a nation?

UK
[edit]We should add the UK as an example of a Superstate, because both Kingdoms gave up their sovereignty to the UK Superstate in 1707.
