The taxonomy template was malformed since it didn't transclude some other templates correctly. I fixed that for you. Children Will Listen (🐄 talk, 🫘 contribs) 13:18, 13 September 2025 (UTC)

Species

@Zhenghecaris: where are you getting the list of species from? Please provide the source. Don't include an unsourced list of species in the taxobox, and don't add editorial comments to those either. S.grandis, S. shenensis & S nanchengensis are from ref 2, the rest are from paleodb and the tuzoia note is form ref1, Zhenghecaris (talk) 16:14, 13 September 2025 (UTC)

The type species now is in a different genus but then off a genus isn’t the type species the taxon other species are built around so shouldn’t C. bispinata be the only taxon since it doesn’t form a Clade with the others so they make their own genus? If the type species is included in a different genus, that makes the genus for which it was the type species a synonym of the genus that now includes the species (it is possible to designate a different species as the type in order to prevent the genus from becoming a synonym, but that happens very rarely). Sunella should be treated as a synonym of Caudicaella. Plantdrew (talk) 23:15, 14 September 2025 (UTC)

Sorry it turns out that paleodb probably had an error since the papers say the type is S. grandis and S. bispinata couldn’t be the type since it was described 25yrs after the the publication of the paper describing Sunella and paleodb mentions a species without references about it anywhere and spells taxa wrong although taxon reference websites are useful at proving taxa exist they aren’t reliable and are often outdated for example gbif says Sunella is an ostracad. Request:wiki data update

Wikidata hasn’t updated from the inaccurate gbif documents which cite a species from the Eocene and consider it an ostracod could someone update this? Houcaris (talk) 14:48, 27 September 2025 (UTC)

Huh?

Does anyone have access to Huo, 1965; it is unclear whether S. shenshiensis and S. shensiella are distinct and it is potentially a mistake and it seems like so in zhang and Shu 2007 but recent papers ,entioning the Arthropods use different terms while not acknowledging the other.
