History of Suri, Sudi caste

[edit]

History of Suri, Sudi caste It is believed that our history is older and ancient than the Mahabharata and Ramayana period, this caste has made significant contributions at different times and participated in the progress of society and the country. It is believed that the Suri caste is known by different names in Nepal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam, Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tripura or Andhra Pradesh, in which the main ones are: Soodi, Suri, Sundi, Sundhi, Saundik, Sunri etc. It is also believed that our caste was Chandravanshi Kshatriya. First of all, we are telling about the origin of our caste. According to the Mahabharata and Agni and Purana, our caste was originated by Lord Brahma. His son was Atri Rishi, who was married to Mata Anasuya. His son was Rajshree Chandra. His wife was Tara. After this Budha was born. Budha's son Purakkha's wife was Urvashi. Purakkha's son's name was Ayu. Ayu's wife's name was Prabha Devi. His son's name was Devaraj Nahush. Nahush was born in 3200 B.C. Who ruled the whole earth, his son was Yayati, Yayati's son was Yadu, Yadu married a Naga princess, his son was Sahasrajit, his son was Shatajit, Shatajit's son was Haihaya, Haihaya's son was Dharma, Dharma's son was Netra, Netra's son was Kunti, Kunti's son was Sahajit, Sahajit's son was Mahishman, who settled Mahishmatipuri, Mahishman's son was Bhadrasrenya, Bhadrasrenya's son was Durdam, Durdam's son was King Dhanak, Dhanak's son was Kartavirya Arjun, Kartavirya Arjun's other name was Sahasrabahu, he was married to King Harishchandra's daughter whose name was Manorama, his son was Jaydhwaj and Jaydhwaj had 100 sons, one of them was Sandik ji, it is believed that he was the ancestor of our caste. With the passage of time, due to degradation in politics, people of our caste moved from Vaishya to Vaishya (Bania) caste. Sunil kr Ankul (talk) 06:18, 20 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

We accept modern scholarly work by reliable authors only in caste articles; read WP:RS, WP:V! We don't consider original research like you have narrated; read WP:OR. Also, primary sources like Vedas, Mahabharata and Ramayana are not considered; read WP:PRIMARY! Thanks. Ekdalian (talk) 13:25, 1 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
