Jean Trowbridge

I believe it would be appropriate to add Jean Trowbridge to the last of notable people from this town. She was winner of the 1936 National Spelling Bee (see Journal of the Iowa Senate 1937). My 'bold' inclusion was reverted here with an invitation for discussion on the talk page. Winning the U.S. National Spelling Bee is a notable event and the hometown of the speller is often a subject of coverage. The item should be included under Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#Lists_of_people and Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Lists#Adding_individual_items_to_a_list. I do not contend this an inclusion based on individual notability of the person to the extent of meriting a separate biography article, but for inclusion as the subject's hometown (which was reported on) is notable, making it a worthwhile and frankly interesting inclusion in this otherwise middling and barely informative article. E.g, you can find towns touting their old winners in places like this , who would rather NOT have the ability to learn that their hometown spawned a national spelling bee winner?--Milowent • ^hasspoken 13:23, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
