Latest comment: 9 years ago by Plingsby in topic Article should be called: Straw-Weaving

This article should probably be renamed "straw plait or straw-plaiting" and then more links could be made to it.

The plaited straw hat is not as common as it was before 1911, so the article seems dated

Article should be called: Straw-Weaving

[edit]

not: "straw-plaiting"

'plaiting' is a kind of weaving and hints at platting of woman's hair only.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.67.228.179 (talk) 13:54, 29 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

No, it is straw plaiting - it has been known as that for at least two centuries. My village here in rural Bedfordshire has an original "Straw Plait School".Plingsby (talk) 07:08, 10 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
