According to Green Left Weekly, the weapon used was a semi-automatic

I'm suggesting a merger of Wade Frankum into this article. Reasons:

Wade Frankum is a short article which already overlaps a great deal with this article
Frankum is notable solely in connection with this event
Frankum is dead and will not become notable for other reasons
