Corrections and additions to the Notable deals section

[edit]

Hello, I represent Stonepeak and am requesting the following correction and additions to the Notable deals section of the article.

  • Modify the current seventh listing in the section to reflect the accurate outcome of the Assura transaction. Changes indicated in gray:
In April 2025, it was announced that Stonepeak and KKR had agreed to buy Assura plc, a UK-listed real estate company, in a deal worth £1.6 billion.[1] The deal is set to complete in autumn 2025 and is subject to approval. Primary Health Properties submitted a competing bid, which was accepted by shareholders in August 2025.[2][3][4]
  • Add the following deals not currently included in this section:
In March 2024, Stonepeak completed the acquisition of Textainer, a marine cargo container leasing company, in a deal that valued the company at approximately $7.4 billion including debt.[5]
The source is dated October 2023, but the claimed completion date is March 2024. This misalignment needs to be resolved, either by rewording or with an additional source. Fiske (talk) 14:54, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
In May 2025, Stonepeak acquired a 65% majority interest in the German and Austrian retail fuel brand JET in a joint venture with Phillips 66.[6]
Was the correct partner in the JV "Energy Equation Partners"? Seems that Phillips 66 was the seller and retained a 35% stake. Needs revision. Fiske (talk) 14:54, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
In August 2025, Stonepeak introduced WahajPeak, its first renewable energy platform in the Middle East, focused on industrial-scale solar, wind, and battery storage projects across the Gulf Cooperation Council and broader MENA region.[7]
The section mainly deals with investments and acquisitions, so the launch of a new platform seems to belong in a different section. Fiske (talk) 14:54, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

@QuartzHarbor - 9 July 2026 "Modify"" request completed with a few changes. Added another reference for initial deal, as the FT citation is subscription only. Made slight wording modifications as well. ERcheck (talk) 15:28, 13 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
ERcheck, thank you very much for implementing the Assura correction. I appreciate you taking the time. Could you please take a look at the three additional deals I proposed above (Textainer, the JET joint venture, and WahajPeak). I'd be so grateful for your help with those. Thanks again, Quartz2913 (talk) 14:02, 15 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
If I could speak for ERcheck, a modified edit request implementation means that the reviewer has already "taken a look" at the entire proposal and found that the modified elements were approvable while the unmodified elements were not. You can see this where they said "Modify"" request completed with a few changes then described those changes for you by stating Added another reference for initial deal, as the FT citation is subscription only. Made slight wording modifications as well. Regards,  Spintendo  19:42, 23 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Spintendo - I had limited time, so only addressed the "Modify" requests. I did not address, nor did it review the "Add" request. ERcheck (talk) 00:50, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
@QuartzHarbor - In reply to your message on my talk page, I have added some questions above about your proposed additions. Please revise your requests as needed.
Also, I retitled this section "Acquisitions and Investments" to remove the editorial word "Notable" from the heading.
On the existing item about Google Fiber, one of the sources is a blog, which does not meet Wikipedia standards for a reliable source WP:RS. This source needs to be replaced by an independent secondary source. Fiske (talk) 15:04, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
As a further note, the section titled "Notable investments" is a list of entries redundant to the previous section. It should probably be deleted. Also, the title "Notable investments" is editorial phrasing. Fiske (talk) 16:49, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
