True stewardship entails a lot than normally thought of. It engages the mind in the primary acknowledgement that God, the Creator of the Universe is the owner of all, and we all are merely stewards of what He made: therefore we are given sole responsibility of what He created.

The concept calls us to consider ourselves as, from an individual level to a corporate level responsible for things ranging from our very own bodies to the environment, and property and lives of other created beings. Shevans92 (talk) 11:10, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

my recent big revert

I've been reverting massive (self?-)promotion of the deleted Charles S. Herrman (user:Mr man1951) in many wikipedia articles. This one, being a real mess of original research and disambiguation, was not salvageable after intervention of Mr man. I will try and untangle the existing mess here a bit later. Environmental stewardship

Hi,

I just wanted to let all those working on this stub- article that I'm going to begin adding to and editing the section on environmental stewardship. I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions. The topic of stewardship ethics in environmental philosophy is broad and needs a much better treatment than it received here. Dyname42 (talk) 18:19, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Split suggestion

The term "stewardship" is nothing but ..er, term, used in different contexts. There nothing in common among the sections beyound the disctionary definition the the term. Therefore the article is prime for spitting/disambiguation. Lorem Ip (talk)

Stewardship is not an ambiguous term.

Rather, it is a broad concept, like Honor or Duty. Such concepts are not always easy to write an article about, but they are nonetheless unambiguous, because there is a general understanding of what the term implies, no matter what area it is applied to. bd2412 T 13:14, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

The article Duty suffers the same problem as stewardship and principle: A dicdef + chaotic collection of the application of the term in particular areas. This is because nobody took pain to search for sources which discuss the subject in its generic meaning. Rather people just throw in bits and pieces in COATRACKish style, probably indiscriminately googling the word "stewardship" :-) Staszek Lem (talk) 19:33, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

IMO it is better to have a general framework for articles about various ethical concepts:

• Intro/dicdef/etymology
• History/evolution of the concepts, starting from antiquity
• Smart people writing on the concept
• Usage cases of the concept in particular areas (a bunch of subsections, possibly using WP:SUMMARY style)

Rationale: The different types of stewardship, e.g. Environmental stewardship and Data stewardship, are so different from each other that no source other than dictionaries covers them in a general way.
