He briefly attended the University of Waterloo ...

After dropping out of the University of Waterloo to concentrate on training for the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Bauer won the silver medal in the road race there.

While at the University of Waterloo, he trained with the cross country ski team, although he'd always leave in February to head to the southern United States to start his cycling season. He taught some of his fellow skiers the "plastic bag down the underwear" trick to prevent frostbite in -40C weather. I'm forever grateful. Ptomblin (talk) 01:06, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
