Article POV
[edit]This wikipedia entry smells of being put up by Steph Song and/or her agents and is extremely POV, in my opinion. I have also added a remark concerning her disturbing remarks about asian directors, in regards to "Dragon Boys", a mini-series produced by Caucasian directors, for which she was a prostitute. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.101.250.47 (talk • contribs) 2007-04-01T22:20:08
- I began a complete rewrite of the article. I didn't carry over your remark because it seems that the relevant Globe and Mail article needs to be purchased to be viewed. Plus, I cannot think of a way to incorporate it into the article as it is right now. --Darren Lee 06:21, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, Darren for the rewrite. However, I'm not sure that a reference to her published remarks shouldn't be made and am contemplating how they should be added. It's not so much the fact that one might (POV) consider them indicative of a complete "sellout, whose remarks indicate a person whose moral code converges with her prostitute character". It's more that for this particular actress, her published remarks thus far make up an substantial part of her published personal opinions, and at least is relevant as her reported "sexiness" ranking. If she were a more accomplished professional, then her remarks that asian directors would be inferior to caucasian directors for Dragon Boys _might_ be eliminated due to space (or perhaps be even more relevant, who knows). But as it stands now, I think it's a large part of her profile. (Think of all of the other similar remarks by other actors that are reported in wikipedia.) Finally, I don't think the fact that the Globe and Mail article is difficult to find online (for free) is a fair rationale for not citing it. It's a published comment, and in principle could be tracked down at a library etc. If we were to eliminate that, then any citation to a rare document (or in fact, any of the millions of newspaper citations currently used on wikipedia) should be eliminated on the same grounds. I'll await a response. Best, 128.101.152.45 15:03, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- I re-added your comment about her opinion of the directorship of Dragon Boys. I found out that the article doesn't require a subscription to read so I added a link to it as a reference. --Darren Lee 02:28, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks -- well done. 128.101.249.180 18:05, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- I noticed some odd behaviour of the link to the G&M article. Clicking on it in the WP article gives this message: "To continue reading this article, you will need to purchase this article." However, performing a search on Google for the article leads to the full version of the article. --Darren Lee 02:24, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- Does anyone have her DOB? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.248.179.31 (talk) 23:27, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
