Stickers

There are "static" stickers for car windows. Is their adhesion due entirely to static cling or is stickyness and suction a factor? How do they maintain their stickyness? —Ben FrantzDale 21:44, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi! This image is not likely to be changed any time soon, as I think it summarizes the "static cling" phenomenon perfectly. There is an implication of the cat rolling in plastic peanuts and thus getting static electricity that clings these items onto the cat's fur. I can't think of another easy visual that would summarize the phenomenon, but there is a possibility of a 2D diagram of static electricity pulling in objects. However, a real world demonstration of a simple scientific phenomenon like this usually has more insight than a diagram of something theoretical. +1 to this, the image is well-known as an internet meme/joke/fun bit of trivia that has definitely circulated for enough years in many places. It's funny yet effective in demonstrating a relatable situation that quickly demonstrates to the unknowing reader what "static cling" is.

I don't think it's ever been at real risk of removal or deletion, given it's freely usable, and it's encyclopedic rather than just a silly joke on its own. If it ever was contested, I'd definitely be on the side advocating for a permanent enforcement of its inclusion here. :3 toydotgame ^talk

This is the best image on the entirety of wikipedia. Its actually used across many pages, im sad it isnt used on the pages for foam peanuts though. I think it would be really funny.
