Origins
[edit]"The origin of the red-white-blue tricolour is not entirely clear; some sources suggest that it developed merely as a variant of red-white-blue because the red dye would tend to fade to orange over time." Is this meant to say that it developed as a variant of the orange-white-blue Prince's Flag? Because otherwise this seems incomprehensible. Metz77 (talk) 20:02, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Wrong colour blue?
[edit]I'm not an expert so I won't change this. However, I believe the blue of the Netherlands flag should be darker than the illustration in this article. It should be the same blue as the French flag. The light blue used in this article belongs to the old flag, the Royal flag. light blue used in this article belongs to the old flag, the Royal flag. - I don't think the Statenvlag had standardized colors. Arguably, the current Dutch flag and the historical Statenvlag should be treated as one and the same. Pescavelho (talk) 13:57, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
