Obviously star counts that aren't enumerations are done with models and some exposition of the details thereof is what I was looking for lead here by google. Elsewhere in wiki I see counts for this galaxy of 4-6 hundred billion, for Andromeda of 1 trillion, and for the universe of 7 * 10 22. The galaxy counts seem to have ballooned from what I understood them to be before though I think the universal count is consistent roughly with what I understood to be the case. While wiki isn't a reliable reference it should be a good starting point and this article isn't ATM. As a matter of fact it doesn't actually seem to be directly about the subject. Perhaps there is another article that is or this one should be renamed and or merged into others.72.228.177.92 (talk) 18:17, 5 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
