Correction: FC was not the first 3D RTT title for PC. Both Warhammer: SOTHR and WH: DO were released years before. Mikademus 11:42, 26 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Canon Stormtrooper Origin

[edit]

Should there be mention in the article about how the storyline of SW:FC completely violates the canon origin of the Imperial Stormtroopers that was later revealed in Episode II?

I'd add it myself, but I don't know enough about this game (only played it about three seconds before giving up) to be able to speak definitively. All I remember was the main character was a rebel Stormtrooper who didn't fit in with the others in his unit.

The Jango clone origin shoots that all to hell. I think it may be a small part of the reason (along with it being unplayably bad) this game is on the "all time worst" lists. It's akin to a SW game where Obi-Wan is Luke's father.

I think your overlooking something. Although the original stormtroopers were clones it is stated in some Star Wars books that later on, the empire used a combination of clones, and of recruiting.

  • Indeed it has been established that the practice of cloning stormtroopers dwindles down to almost none by the time of the original trilogy. Which makes it possible for the clones encountered in Timothy Zahn's book "Dark Force Rising" to be a special case, never before experienced by the likes of Luke and Han who both stripped stormtroopers of their armor for use as disguises as early as ANH.
