Merge proposal
[edit]The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
I propose merging List of Star Detective Precure! episodes into this page, Star Detective Precure!.
First, for now the main page and the List of episodes page both are still lack of content (too short), as the series still haven't even brocasted it yet.
Second, the source that provided in the List of episodes page (Episodes section) does not include any Star Detective Precure! episodes details, including the title and staff of episode #1. Moreover, not a single secondary source can provide the details of it for now.
Based on these reasons, I propose to delete List of Star Detective Precure! episodes first, and add the table back once a secondary sources has been provided (which just means merge). -- HelloYu0910 (talk) 22:59, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Schoolbus1000, since you are the one who created the List of episodes page, I would like to ask you that do you have any valuable reasons to keep the List of episodes page for now? -- HelloYu0910 (talk) 23:03, 30 January 2026 (UTC)

- After these Pretty Cure episode list were done before the air date some user said we shouldn't created a split episode list until the end of the season but this was the format for some Pretty Cure episode list because we know there will more than 40 episodes for the new series
- So we can keep it for now. Schoolbus1000 (talk) 23:57, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
- I understand your point. However, currently the content between both pages are lacked. Though the Precure episode list will have to split, but now the main page and the list of episodes page aren't having enough content to split . To this, I think we should move back until the content of the main page is enough/more than enough. Also, don't run the red light, check on Wikipedia policies before anything. - I did check that WP:SIZESPLIT a big notice said this in an info page not a policy page WP:SIZE is the policy it said it needed 15,000 words for articles to be split not included the tables list of episodes since the episodes list is a table format none of the Pretty Cure series have that many words and a lot of anime don't have that many words but there is sometimes new episodes split that seem to be really short. - The admin said the policies were to help with guidelines but are not rules you need to follow and he said if a season of the same type of series with different names you can use the same format like slitting episodes list before it aired. He even said that most admin dont even know Wikipedia policies because they were from old generation when Wikipedia first started where there was no policies at the time just guidelines. - The quote from this website Ignore all rules "If a rule prevents you from improving or maintaining Wikipedia, ignore it." - The quote from this website: Wikipedia:Five pillars#WP:5P5 "Wikipedia has no firm rules - Wikipedia has policies and guidelines, but they are not carved in stone; their content and interpretation can evolve over time. The principles and spirit matter more than literal wording, and sometimes improving Wikipedia requires making exceptions." the word not carved in stone means you can make exceptions for policies and this improving Wikipedia requires making exceptions. - @Schoolbus1000,
- WP:NOTIAR:
Rule-breakers must justify how their actions improve the encyclopedia if challenged. Actually, everyone should be able to do that at all times. In cases of conflict, what counts as an improvement is decided by consensus.
/"Ignore all rules" is not in itself a valid answer if someone asks you why you broke a rule. Most of the rules are derived from a lot of thoughtful experience and exist for pretty good reasons; they should therefore only be broken for good reasons.
- How can your actions improve this page? And this is not vaild answer supposedly, as

- Support merge of List of Star Detective Precure! episodes into this page. The episode list page does not have enough content, at the moment, to support a standalone article. If and when, it becomes too large, then a split discussion can occur, but as of right now, that discussion is moot. And furthermore, I do not believe for one minute all the exaggerations (to put it mildly), that Schoolbus1000 has been spouting off about —
i talked to an admin that policies don't matter he said its not mandatory since no one follows them but guidelines are the ones that matter.
— this is simply not true, policies do matter, and I just do not believe that an admin said "policies don't matter" or an admin said that "policies were to help with guidelines but are not rules you need to follow". To be blunt, those type of comments can easily be dismissed as being misleading.— Isaidnoway (talk) 04:39, 17 February 2026 (UTC)- this guy told Me User:Novem Linguae there was edit war going between 2 users in one of the Precure series, one wanted to split and other said he wanted to make all Precure series merge all episodes back into main article. I talked to him using no account because i was college didn't want. I asked him about this policy Ignore all Policies: Ignore all rules he said most user follow this policy. Schoolbus1000 (talk) 05:50, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
- This Ignore all rules means - It does, however, encourage people to use personal judgement and allow novices to contribute without full awareness of every policy and guideline. Schoolbus1000 (talk) 06:06, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
- Looks like I was pinged. I don't recall having interacted with you or this topic before. Got any questions for me? –Novem Linguae (talk) 06:44, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
- Here is an argument in the previous Precure series they sometimes split episode list into new pages before they air and some page reviewers or other users says not enough content to split episodes for new series based on this ruleWikipedia:SIZESPLIT but the other Precure series never followed this rule. So I am trying to make it easier to split episodes into new page so we don't have to copy and delete episodes from main page once the episode list gets bigger Schoolbus1000 (talk) 07:06, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
- Do you think the users should follow this rule:
- Wikipedia:SIZESPLIT or just ignore it because the old series of Precure never followed it? Schoolbus1000 (talk) 07:09, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
- Again, don't run the red light. Follow & check the policy first. Just because some user do this, doesn't mean that you have to do that. HelloYu0910 (talk) 03:01, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- A lot anime series that have episodes don't follow this policy: Wikipedia:SIZESPLIT some have 12 episodes and are split into episode list with no summary just summary plot and some even do this if they have 2 seasons they even split to season 1 page and season 2 page. A lot of user don't cares for policies based on this quote "Wikipedia has no firm rules" from this website:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Five_pillars#WP:5P5 Schoolbus1000 (talk) 05:54, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- if most people are not following this policy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:SIZESPLIT this policy should be removed Schoolbus1000 (talk) 06:00, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- This is from Wikipedia:Article size if page has more than > 15,000 words it can be split not including tables which means the episode list don't count towards the word number but a lot of anime have less than 15000 words number but is split anyway. Schoolbus1000 (talk) 06:08, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- Translated from zh:WP:別跟著闖紅燈 (Chinese Wikipedia),
"Running a red light is illegal, but when you move to the countryside, everyone who runs a red light never gets caught, but does that mean running over the red light is legal? Of course not, you can't just simply say 'everyone is running a red light, why can't I?' and run over the red light."
Same thing here.A lot of anime series didn't follow this policy: Wikipedia:SIZESPLIT
, although maybe that's the case, but does that mean you don't have to follow it? Of course not. If you think the policy is useless, go form a discussion there on whether or not it should be remove. In the meantime, stuck the episode list in this page until the content here is enough/more than enough to move the episode list to another page. Star Detective Precure! → Star Detective Pretty Cure! – rename request in order to match all of the pretty cure/precure shows in this wiki. SBF2004 (talk) 22:25, 6 August 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose, as Star Detective Precure! is the official title of this series, given that the English title under the original logo and Toei Animation USA's title both represent it that way. Besides, you can see the previous discussion from here, and I would love to see if anyone can join this discussion and end once it for all. -- HelloYu0910 (talk) 11:23, 9 August 2026 (UTC)
