Not oldest in Wales

- The older materials in question are certain sizeable limestone clasts which form a part of the Gwna melange which outcrops, amongst other places at Llanddwyn Island, Anglesey. They have been dated to 860-800 million years old, per description at p30 of 'Footsteps through Time' published by Isle of Anglesey Council in 2014, citing the paper by Horak and Evans (2011). Not strictly a rock though such is the extraordinary nature of the melange that certain clasts are of a size to be geologically mappable themselves. They contain stromatolites which are the oldest fossils known from Wales. Geopersona (talk) 07:53, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
