I don't see anything in this article that isn't in Stannary Courts and Parliaments. Either it should be merged here or Stannary should be redirected to it. --Diderot 15:16, 9 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

The intent is to describe the geographic location and coinage (i.e. taxation & marketing) towns of the individual stanneries in more detail, together with some information about how this picture changed over time. Stannary Courts and Parliaments is about their governing institutions, some of which were shared between stannaries, so a detailed enumeration of the individual stanneries would probably be inappropriate there. I've also retained the adjective definition from the previous disambiguation page because I am reluctant to delete information. FWIW, my personal preference would be to have 'courts' and 'parliaments' in separate articles. --AndyCarlson 21 December 2005

Perhaps this should be merged with Dartmoor tin-mining instead. There is a lot of stannary technology (e.g. blowing house) that has little to do with the legalities --Ziusudra 20:12, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Halifax

[edit]

I've seen mentions of a district called Stannary near Halifax, Yorkshire (example). Same etymology? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:47, 2 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
