[edit]I doubt the categorizing of this article. To the best of my knowledge, stanitsa is a village of only Russian and Russified Cossacks, not Ukrainian. Khutir may be a similar Ukrainian term/notion. Ukrained 13:17, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
- I agree. "Stanitsa" should not be used to refer to Cossacks(which is a romanization of Ukrainian word "козак"). It suits russian cassacks(“казак“) more. ZlyyBandera (talk) 03:56, 10 May 2023 (UTC)
Genocide
[edit]@BilletsMauves Claims of genocide of Cossacks based entirely on the same improperly cited works (without page numbers), that were copied here blindly from the De-Cossackization article by the editor should be promptly removed. F.Alexsandr (talk) 22:36, 22 February 2026 (UTC)
- I have added the page/chapter numbers for all the cited works that did not have them. Thank you for bringing up this matter. BilletsMauves€500 11:03, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- The main article refers to the genocide label as disputed, so we should not be calling this a genocide in wikivoice here. Mellk (talk) 17:27, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
