Sadly, as is noted on the discussion pages of Osip Mandelstam, this is a poor translation of the Stalin Epigram. I include it in the hope that someone will one day venture a better one. Sjc 06:25, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Two

[edit]

There seem to be two versions of the Epigram in Russian. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.135.224.70 (talk) 13:43, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ossetian?

[edit]

rumor that Stalin was born from a person of Ossetian ethnicity rather than from his official father, Besarion Jughashvili, who was a Georgian. - there are sources that refer to Stalin's father Besarion as an Osetian. --Estlandia (Miacek) (dialogue) 11:34, 2 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Merge

[edit]

I suggest to merge this page to Biography of Mandelshtam because

  1. It is generally cited as if not the best, but the most important poem by him, which affected his life and ultimately led to his death
  2. The current biography of Mandelshtam is still a relatively small page. My very best wishes (talk) 15:13, 25 April 2013 (UTC) That was bad idea because the page about Mandelshtam is very small, so the poem dominates the page. My very best wishes (talk) 23:49, 23 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
