Holding
[edit]The holding doesn't seem to read quite right to me: "Bail had been set unusually high for the defendants since there was no evidence that they would flee before the trial date, and was therefore in violation of their Eight Amendment rights."
This implies that the bail was set high because there was no evidence that defendants would flee, but the issue is that the bail was set high despite there being no evidence they would flee.
