Notability
[edit]As described in the article text, this is the world's largest manufacturer of firearms propellants, and supplies nearly all of these propellants used by the United States military. This is a significant vulnerability to United States international security. A single targeted strike at this site containing chemically unstable products could functionally eliminate the United States' ability to replenish small arms ammunition inventories. Climate change imposes similarly significant risks from rising sea levels and increasing hurricane intensity because the facility is located near sea level adjacent to the warm Gulf of Mexico.
