"Billion cubic feet" is not a valid replacement for tmcft (ten million cubic feet). The word "billion" is ambiguous, particularly in India. See e.g. Long and short scales#Using neither: "Outside of financial media, the use of billion by Bangladeshi, Indian and Pakistani English speakers highly depends on their educational background. Some may continue to use the traditional British long scale." I think that's the main reason why India chose the "weird" number "thousand million" in the unit tmcft: "billion cubic feet" would be ambiguous. Replacing "tmcft" by "billion cubic feet" is incorrect. I reverted it. — Chrisahn (talk) 19:39, 19 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
