Resistance to loosening
[edit]The article says: "Compared to standard hex nuts, square nuts have a greater surface in contact with the part being fastened, and therefore provide greater resistance to loosening (though also greater resistance to tightening)". In my opinion, this is not true. As can clearly be seen in the image, the actual area is approximately equal (and round!). Also the area of a contact has no/little influence on the forces/torques transferred. I'd like to see a citation for this, as right now I definitely disagree. 131.234.96.234 (talk) 09:46, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
